Landscaping Costs

Quality landscaping – what can you get for your money?

We have previously discussed landscaping costs, how much can you expect to pay for a professionally landscaped garden and what factors go into formulating a quotation for building it. We think it’s important to demystify the process further on this page, by giving some real-life examples of a range of different projects we’ve carried out.

Here at Holland Landscapes we are able to work to most budgets, starting at £6,000 for a small, clear site, although individual elements within the garden (e.g. planting, fencing, new lawns) will be less.

A few of our recent projects

Soft landscaping only
£6,000 – £8,500

Abundant planting selected to stand out in its on-street location and to soften an angular design. A hard-working selection of structural shrubs, trees and herbaceous perennials, carefully balanced to give interest all year round.

Small town garden
£10,000 – £12,500

A level new-build plot with easy access, simple planting and block-lined gravelled pathways in a curved design.

Narrow contemporary garden
£17,500 – £22,500

High-spec surface materials (sawn sandstone and black granite paving), stepped level change and raised bed, hardwood bespoke seating shelter, ivy screens, bespoke water feature and garden lighting.

Hard landscaped split-level terrace
£30,000 – £35,000

Construction on two levels with luxurious black basalt paving, through colour monocouche rendered retaining walls, bespoke galvanised elephant tread steps, bespoke galvanised and powder coated railings, bespoke red plascoat bottomless planters, remote controlled lighting, drainage, planting bed construction and minimal soft landscaping with three large olive trees.

Traditional large garden
£45,000 – £55,000

Large country garden designed with curves and circles, three different ‘rooms’ level changes, bespoke trellis partitions, multiple surface materials including traditional brick paving and limestone, topiary planting and specimen trees.

Country Garden
£100,000 – 125,000

Large quantities of soil was excavated to create useable spaces and extensive drainage was installed. Rolling banks were graded and planted with wild flowers to soften the height difference. Tumbled limestone paving was used to compliment the house.

Accurate pricing from the start

All these gardens were professionally designed. From this we were able to provide our clients with an accurate quotation for their construction from the outset, with no hidden costs during the build.

Should I have my garden designed?

Bear in mind that a professionally designed garden may actually save expenditure by finding the most cost-effective solutions for the space. See our blog Think You Can’t Afford A Garden Designer? on why using a garden designer may be a good choice for you. We work closely with our sister company Tapestry Design Studios to provide a seamless transition from garden design to build, should you require design work.
