Low Maintenance Garden In Chelmsford

About This Project

A wonderful low maintenance garden in Chelmsford creating using a simple palette of landscaping materials and a great deal of attention to detail.

The Client Brief

For this garden in Chelmsford, the clients already had a garden design for us to work to. Our job was to bring the design to life.

The clients had chosen Holland Landscapes to build their low maintenance garden through a combination of word of mouth recommendation, our membership of the APL, and a chat with Paul Baker to make sure that they would like the personalities of the people who would be working in their garden. Something that is always incredibly important.

The Garden

Before we started work, this garden in Chelmsford was somewhat dilapidated. Building works on the house had left the outdoor spaces looking tired and uninviting.

The garden designer had suggested installing an area of composite decking beneath a large pergola beside the house to give the homeowners more living space. This pergola has a louvred roof so that it can either be open to the elements or act as a sheltered outdoor room.

The decking opens up onto a large porcelain patio which hugs the house and draws the eye towards the garden.

Walking out of the back door, leads you to a mini garden,  hidden from the main garden by bespoke screening. We installed artificial grass throughout the garden in keeping with the owners’ desire for a low maintenance space. This is offset by a beautiful planting scheme which not only looks good – it’s bee friendly too.

Water Feature

The water feature in this garden in Chelmsford was a delight to install. We love the simplicity of the design and the way it forms an intriguing focal point for the garden. We also love the elliptical planters  beside the boundary fence.

Low Maintenance Gardens

To create a low maintenance garden you need a strong garden design. This one has clean, geometric lines and a clever combination of modern landscaping materials and a traditional planting scheme.

To achieve a look like this you need a skilled landscaper who can install landscaping materials to a high degree of accuracy. This garden in Chelmsford was a delight to work in.  And we hope that our clients continue to enjoy it for many years to come.
